Travel through 5AM Trio’s new genre-defying single, “Heat,” an adventurous whirlwind of trap, house, and funky breaks with a blazing live band sound.

Consisting of the whimsical producer 5AM, the accomplished guitarist Keith Wadsworth, and the vigorous percussionist ZONE Drums, the 5AM Trio has been turning heads with its refreshing instrumental talents and wildly unique sound design. The emerging trifecta has a natural chemistry and limitless musical expression in its style, landing the band on big stages alongside legends including The Floozies, Papadosio, and Sunsquabi.

The vibrant three-piece has a major year ahead of them, going on tour this month alongside HIHF favorite G-Space (check out those dates below), performing at Resonate Suwanee in the Spring, and kicking off Red Rocks season in March in support of the wonky dubstep icon Boogie T.

The explorative new single showcases 5AM Trio’s transcending ability to craft unpredictable and thrilling soundscapes that take listeners on a multi-dimensional sonic journey across time and space. “Heat” eases fans into its striking drops with a soulful marimba introduction as the electric guitar slowly comes in, followed by stem-winding drums that stimulate the neural pathways.

Fusing dynamic house elements with a trap flare and seamless instrumentation, “Heat” evokes euphoric sensations and gets the body grooving. Here’s what the trio’s leader had to say about the crew’s latest release:

“I was at the bouldering gym and a marimba melody popped into my head, so I ran home and sketched-up the initial idea for “Heat”. After jamming on it a bit with the Trio, it turned into a dynamic journey through trap, house, and breaks that can bang with the best of them, while maintaining our live band sound.” – 5AM
