5AM Trio Is Back With New Single "Technology"

The wickedly cool three-piece band 5AM Trio returns with another stellar new release, “Technology” following the drop of their highly anticipated EP earlier in 2024. The trio has been on the rise and together they bring something fresh to their discography with this funky new tune. The track starts with a unique and enticing vocal sample that sets the tone for the glitch-hop meets jam listening journey you have embarked on, sparked by a variety of instrumental blends.

Wondering who the 5AM Trio is? Leading the trio is Sam Andrus, known as 5AM, who is a highly talented producer who seamlessly blends sounds of jazz, funk, and much more. Keith Wadsworth of Wax Future injects his sound into the trio through his masterful playing of the guitar, bass, and pads. An uber-talented percussionist, artist, and DJ by the name of ZONE Drums, aka Aaron Harel, completes the iconic staple of the underground. Their stage presence is one you won’t soon forget, fueled by improvisation and unique soundscapes.

The release of “Technology” brings momentum for the rising star trio, as they are approaching a two-night “Nightmare on Funk Street” show in Arizona with The Floozies at the end of October just before Halloween. Here’s what 5AM had to say about their newest work:

“Technology is a song about striking a balance between the digital and the organic. Musically, with the 5AM Trio project we’ve always been exploring that balance as we blend digital and live elements in our arrangements. The line “his vision was limited only by technology” really inspired us because technology can limit us, through distraction and by giving us a paralyzing amount of options if we’re not disciplined, so it’s really a song about honing in and striking that balance while embracing all the gifts technology has to offer.” -5AM

5AM Trio continues to make waves in the bass community, appearing at many festivals and concerts in recent years. The group has opened for highly renowned artists such as Tiedye Ky, Papadosio, and Sunsquabi. This trio also delivered head-turning performances at Winter Wake Up Festival and Elements Festival. We are extremely eager to see what’s next from this amazing group of musicians.
