Vincent Antone is a breakout electronic star, harnessing the power of funky bass music, that you absolutely need to have your eye on. We had the chance to speak with him after his ultra-impressive Hulaween 2025 performance.
If you haven’t gotten the chance to catch Vincent Antone performing alongside the likes of huge names like CloZee, LSDream, STS9, and dozens of others, you can still catch him as support for Big Gigantic in DC later this month and playing direct support for GRiZ for his Detroit GRiZmas shows in December.
Vincent just sold out the Fox Theatre on Halloween. This marks his fifth sellout as a headliner in Colorado, ranging from Meow Wolf to Ogden Theatre.
Check out his conversation with us after his Hula set, and be sure to support him online. You won’t want to miss out on what’s to come from Vincent Antone!

HIHF: Ty here from Heard It Here First, I’m here with Vincent Antone. Vincent Antone just stepped off stage at Hulaween at the Spirit Lake Stage and crushed it. How does it feel, Vince?
VA: Oh, so wonderful, lots of fun. Everything I thought it would be and more, good times. I’ve been wanting to do this one for a while.
HIHF: Heard It Here First was so hyped to have you on for our annual, official Road To Hulaween guest mix. What kind of influences do you draw when you put together a mix like that?
VA: I’m a big fan of the funk and soul vibes of the 70s incorporated with 90s hip-hop vocals and then contemporary bass and production and stuff – that’s just a combination that really scratches all the itches for me, you know? I grew up playing funk music so a lot of that old school sound.
HIHF: Well, that’s a perfect fit for the festival and clearly got the people hyped. You’re in the middle of your Local Technique tour, and you’re gearing up to open for GRiZ at his highly anticipated GRiZmas event. How’s the tour been? And how does it feel to get the news you’re opening up for GRiZ?
VA: The tour’s been so much fun. It’s cool to put something out and immediately have fans know the songs. I put the Local Technique EP out and then immediately started touring, it helped me feel really connected to everybody through that.
The GRiZ show – I mean, that is a lifetime goal for me right there. I draw a lot of influence from his sounds, especially the older stuff. These pioneers of that future funk / electro-soul sound, him and the Pretty Lights crew, that kind of thing, it all was kind of born from that. So it’s cool to try and take those sounds and inspiration and push it myself into something new.
HIHF: Tell us more about the Local Technique EP. What was putting that together like? What’s next for the Vincent Antone project?
VA: Yeah! I put that together this summer. It was just something that seemed like it was the right time for something like that. I did a bunch of EPs earlier in the project, and then just like switched to singles for a while. I had my first album last year and I wanted to follow that up with something.
But I’m already looking ahead to my next record. I’m starting to put that together right now. I had a bunch of ideas I was writing without any sort of plan, which is the best, because you get into this headspace of like writing songs and shit and it’s always supposed to be for the fans. I was just writing to write, and I forgot about all these ideas…and I thought to myself, “Damn, I need to write fourteen new songs for this next record.” Then I opened some old project files and thought, “Wait, I got the gas already, I just need to finish it up.” So, yeah, I’m really excited about what’s to come for the next one.
HIHF: Huge thank you to Vincent and his team for making this interview happen!
Vincent Antone closed out Hulaween with pure groove energy, making his Sunday debut at the Spirit Lake stage an instant highlight. His set was a masterclass in live-electronic fusion, with signature funk basslines intertwining with crisp drum programming, keeping fans moving from start to finish.
Pulling from his Local Technique EP, he dropped heaters like “Astral Projector”, which hit with that perfect balance of cosmic melody and bass-driven grit.
