On Monday, Seven Lions announced on Twitter that an EP of remixes of his song “Island” with Wooli, Trivecta, and Nevve would be unveiled over the course of the week. Today, the full EP, called Island Remixes, was released on all major platforms, containing remixes by Blastoyz, Dimibo, Au5, Sullivan King, and Heard It Here First favorite, TYNAN.
On January 5th, “Island” was first released via the producer’s own label, Ophelia Records. It combines Seven Lions’s euphoric leads with the heavy hitting bass of Wooli and Trivecta. Each producer’s input is distinct, a contrast that makes each drop exciting and keeping listeners on their toes. Meanwhile, Nevve, after a breakout in 2018, lends her soothing vocals to the track. She has multitudes of top charting collaborations under her belt with many marquee producers including Boombox Cartel, UZ, and more.
One of my personal favorites off this EP was Sullivan King’s remix of “Island.” His approach is extremely unique as he effectively combines Metal with Dubstep. His guitar solo at the end of the track, as shown in the video above, is the perfect closeout.
