Today we had an opportunity to chat with two of the most exciting names in House music: Wax Motif and Matroda. The two recently put out a brand new bop of a Bass-House tun titled “Lose Control“, which is out now through Wax Motif’s own record label, Divided Souls.
The track samples the Missy Elliot dancefloor classic of the same name and has already received support from huge names in the Dance music world like Don Diablo, Shiba San, Claptone, and tons more. “Lose Control” does an amazing job of exemplifying both artists’ individual styles. This festival-ready anthem is the perfect addition to any end of the year playlist.
Enjoy the new jam and check out our conversation with Wax and Matroda below!
The new single comes from Wax’s new record label, what can you tell us about Divided Souls Records?
Wax: I just felt it was time to start my own platform for releasing records and clothing. Divided Souls Records will encompass all of that.
Who are each of your favorite collaborators? (Besides each other, of course)
Matroda: Chris Lake, Quix, Dances with White Girls
Wax: AC Slater
What’s on tap for 2020 for both of you?
Matroda: I’m trying to be creative and different when it comes to music production. Will release a new project/EP Called TERMINAL UNDERGROUND which will be a name for my very own label/collective..A lot of exciting things in the pipeline for 2020.
Wax: My North American tour from January to April and releasing my album.
(For Matroda) What is the Croatian dance music scene like? Obviously, you have Ultra Europe right there in Split.
Matroda: Croatian music scene is small, but kinda promising on the producer side. There are few festivals like Ultra Europe, Hideout, etc..and Croatia has a strong clubbing scene (4 clubs in the top 100 clubs in the world). But to be honest, since I’m spending more and more of my time here in Los Angeles, I’m not following the Croatian music scene as much on a daily basis.
What are each of your dream venues to play (inside or outside the US)?
Matroda: Red Rocks (US) + GLASTONBURY FEST (Outside of US)
Wax: Ushuaia Ibiza & Boothaus Cologne
What about a dream festival?
Matroda: EDC Las Vegas
Wax: Coachella & Tomorrowland
Last one, dream collaborator for each of you — who would it be?
Matroda: Rick Rubin, Pharell, Daft Punk, Skrillex
Wax: Daft Punk
Thanks so much to these two young legends for sitting down with us, can’t wait for what’s next in each of your musical journeys.
