Coming off a wild and versatile year in 2019, GRiZ is back with a bang. As if the hip-hop and soul blended record Ride Waves wasn’t enough, the saxy DJ/producer dropped four EPs – Bangerz[1-4].zip – with influences coming from all facets of the genre spectrum.

His latest House record “Could U” carries this torch into the new year. The track kicks off with a killer bass riff that carries the entirety of the tune. Cruising along like a funk-soul tune from the ’80s, the track then catapults into a modern electronic sound while maintaining its bouncing bottom layer.

Packaged with a club mix that cuts right to the chase, GRiZ’s official release with AC Slater’s renowned house collective, Night Bass, is an absolute smash.

Retro, fuzzy synths are shuffled in and out throughout the track as it fluctuates between different low-tone, emphatic house tones. The chugging snare carries the variable tones of the tune with the resounding vocal hook begs the question on all of our minds – “could you love me / like I love you?”

We are feeling the love, GRiZ, and we love “Could U” right back!
