Cooking up beats is his game, Chef Boyarbeatz is his name. Hailing from Los Angeles, this bass beat chef has concocted up something delicious for his first release of the year. “Flight Malfunction / Crash Landing” is a tasty 140 treat of the best variety.
Chef B recently released a “strictly 140” mix for the record label Dipitus – you can listen to it here! He was announced as part of the Phase 1 lineup for Moonlight Mirage Festival in the Mojave Desert, along with Mirror Maze, Snuffy, Kaipora, Lyqd, and more. More artists to be announced, snag your tickets here!
This newest installment on Chef Boyarbeatz’ menu is the product of bringing new equipment into the kitchen:
“This tune was the first song I made after beginning my modular eurorack. I really wanted to just use this new toy and fuck around and see what I could make from it. The track came together really quickly and was so much fun to make. This is my first release in 2022 and really sets the tone for what I have planned release wise.” – Chef Boyarbeatz
Released on his own imprint Intergalactic Kitchen Records, “Flight Malfunction / Crash Landing” is a malfunction of the best variety. The art for this release was created by the talented @pj_paints and reflects the intergalactic vibes of the track.
Wavering beats transport listeners to another planet with a distinct space-inspired sound. Deep, minimalistic bass rings through with pristine fidelity as listeners take flight into the 140 expanse. Artful scratching and light drum and bass influences can be heard throughout the song. The gritty synths towards the end of the track sound reminiscent of a G Jones / Eprom vibe and compliment the rest of the work beautifully. It is an absolute banger and we can’t wait to hear what else is coming out of the kitchen from our favorite Chef!
