Los Angeles-based flow god Nitepunk is back on HARD Recs with yet another breathtaking track in the form of a more melodic and blissful banger, “Black And Colors”.
For the last several years, Nitepunk has been consistently delivering boundary-pushing music. Just when you think, “What will he hit us withnext?”, he delivers every time while shattering expectations. One of the most unique-sounding breakbeats and bass music artists in the game today, those who have been lucky to see this mastermind live always highlight the next-level energy, flow, and selection he brings to each set. This year has seen the next-level producer unleash a mind-bending single in “Grounded”, a killer collab with Habstrakt, as well as remixes for Apashe, Effin, The Upbeats, and even a monster rendition of “Supersonic” by Skrillex, Noisia, josh pan & Dylan Brady.
Having played big festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer and Ultra Music Festival, Nitepunk will be carrying this awesome momentum to a number of tour stops and festivals this Fall. Fans will be able to catch him at Lost Lands as well as several stops on Slander’s upcoming “The Thrive Tour”, including a massive show at Red Rocks where he’ll join popular names like Dimension, Leotrix and Eptic. “Black And Colors” is the perfect combination of blissfulness and hard-hitting bass. The angelic lyrics of New York-based vocalist Isa paint a heart-warming picture in the minds of the listeners as she and Nitepunk carry us into the first drop, featuring pounding bass lines, quick-stabbing growls, and ingenious vocal chops. Isa brings us back with more pleasantries before we blast off once again into a cosmic rollercoaster of a second drop, featuring complex flows in both the drums and intergalactic synths. What we ultimately have here is an uplifting show-stopper that is sure to launch us to the heavens and beyond.
Here’s what Nitepunk had to say about his new single: “This song personally makes me feel like I’m on a cool adventurous nostalgic journey and the final destination is a state where everything kinda blossoms inside me, feeling all the best things together: Happiness, peace, love, childlike excitement about life, energy, flying high and free. I think this is a song where I see colors in the most sparkling way in terms of synesthesia. I want to write music for everybody and I think this is one of those records where, no matter what you listen to or are into, you will find a piece of you inside it, or at least that’s what I’m hoping for.”
Isa even provided some thoughts for her collab with Nitepunk: “I want to promote positivity or provoke thought, so I love the message. ‘Black and Colors’ was the name of the track already so ‘color me in love” was a no-brainer and one of my favorite lines to date; it makes me feel bubbly while singing it. It’s a feel-good song touching on insecurity, hurt and that person who inspires you to be great.”
