NotLö has had a massive career in a relatively short period of time. Her live shows are explosive, setting stages ablaze at huge festivals like Electric Zoo, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and dozens of other massive events. She’s graced legendary venues in the past like Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado and Hampton Coliseum in Virginia and is a favorite of esteemed dubstep labels like TRUTH‘s Deep, Dark and Dangerous, and Zeds Dead‘s Deadbeats.
After recent releases on Subtronics’ Cyclops Recordings and CloZee’s Odyzey label, NotLö is back now with a fully-independent release.
Today, the rapidly ascending star is returning to her fanbase with her most impressive work yet, the Mechanism EP. A few weeks back, NotLö appeared on Insomniac Radio for an absolutely filthy Pride Mix, where she threw down a slew of IDs, debuting all of today’s EP. Featuring three brand new distorted original tracks from NotLö, this recent work proves she is here to stay. It’s a pushback to the hateful responses women in bass music constantly experience.
Here’s what NotLö said about the Mechanism EP:
“I’m here to prove that women have a seat at the table in the bass genre. I pushed myself with my production skills and sound design on this EP; it’s an ode to women in music.” – NotLö
On the opening track, “Scream,” NotLö starts things off with an ominous drum and bass intro. This haunting track blasts off into oblivion, delivering a lethal drop certain to get feet moving and gunfingers in the air!
“Crush That” is a distorted creation that shies on the more upbeat side. With walloping bass and crisp drums, it would be absolutely brutal on a big sound system and we can’t wait for our next NotLö set so we can experience “Crush That” in a live setting.
Lastly, we’ve got the title track, “Mechanism.” With an infectious halftime beat that’s as warming and inviting as it is sharp and dangerous, this one is an absolute heater. NotLö succeeds in proving her statement to the industry, showing who she really is as a producer and an artist with all three of these unique tracks.
