Straight from the concrete jungle, rising Brooklyn-based producer and DJ, Bronze Sun, unveils his debut EP, The Chimera. Out now through CloZee’s Odyzey Music, The Chimera EP welcomes listeners into an immersive soundscape fueled by a cohesive balance between passion and poise. The four-track EP dwells in the groove-rooted soundscape that can only be described as the sounds of Bronze Sun.

Dylan Bronson, better known as Bronze Sun, originally entered the music scene as a guitarist and moved into production after a bolt of inspiration calling him to transform the unique sonic ideas in his mind into something only he could create. Bronze Sun’s production prowess has landed his experimental melodies homes with prestigious labels like Grand Alliance Music, High Vibe Records, and Odyzey Music. Outside of his releases, Bronze Sun has also co-founded two Brooklyn-based collectives, Liminal Bass and Bass Freaks. Both are well known for hosting high-caliber events, welcoming artists such as Noize Complaint, PIERCE, and SubDocta. Despite honing his sound within the realms of groove-driven bass music, Bronze Sun has demonstrated a clear drive for musical exploration in his recent releases. His track “DAANCE” showcases his ability to evoke emotion through melodic, festival-ready energy, while “Losing My Mind” dives deeper into his darker, more introspective side.

The first piece of his brand new four-track EP, “Essence”, starts The Chimera off strong, hurling listeners headfirst into an explosion of insatiable low-end focused beats guided by ethereal vocal samples layered throughout the track. The entire piece floods our eardrums with an uplifting sensation while still urging our feet towards the nearest dancefloor.

The following piece, “Lucid Dream”, casts a sultry experimental spell over us as Bronze Sun lures us into the second part of The Chimera EP. “Lucid Dream” carries the same sonic stamp as its predecessor, “Essence,” but with a grittier elemental foundation. From beginning to end, we are lulled with a series of mastercrafted synths and spellbinding reverb, mystifying us with each note.

After awakening from the previous track, “The Chimera”  transports listeners from the dreamstate of “Lucid Dream” to the untamed forest. As we step into the deep brush of “The Chimera,” we’re welcomed in by the alluring vocal samples paving the path for an auditory journey into a balanced soundscape of soothing melodies and ferocious sound design.

Closing out The Chimera EP is the final track, “NAASTY”, a tantalizing mix of infectious groove and brain-buzzing reverb. The intro of “NAASTY” weaves a glimmering electronic web, trapping us in its spellbinding sounds. As we close in on the climax of “NAASTY,” the track earns its name as downtempo space collides with funkstep. Here’s what Bronze Sun had to say about his newest:

“The Chimera centers on embracing contradiction and hybrid identity, finding strength in the parts of the self that feel fragmented rather than smoothing them away. It’s a project about letting different influences and emotional states coexist without forcing resolution. I’ve been lucky to release music through Odyzey before, and this EP feels like the most complete statement of my project so far, both musically and conceptually.” – Bronze Sun

With an untamed yet intentional approach to production, Bronze Sun continues to carve out a sound that thrives on contrast, where groove-driven energy meets introspective depth. Unbound by genre and fueled by curiosity, his evolving catalog signals an artist in motion, one who isn’t afraid to blur boundaries while pulling listeners deeper into his sonic world.
