Ravenscoon has teamed up with melodic dubstep maestro Trivecta and vocalist Jessy Covets for a huge collab titled “Let Go,” which is out now on Wakaan. Hot on the heels of his PERIPHERY headline tour announcement, and with a full-length LP of the same name due in the fall, this collab is just more proof that Ravenscoon is on a roll. As long-time fans and supporters, we’re incredibly thrilled to see his growth.
Trivecta has also been releasing consistently this year, with a VIP of “Back To The Start”, a collab with Jason Ross, and a remix for Seven Lions all making waves in the melodic world. Jessy Covets is a name we’ll be seeing more of. The incredibly talented vocalist has been highly sought after following her feature on “Shades Of Black” with Sully and IORA (that’s me!) which was released on Sully’s Submersed EP via Wakaan in June.
Let’s get into the track. With“Let Go”, Ravenscoon and Trivecta have created a mainstage monster. A gorgeous chord progression with Jessy’s flawless vocals builds into a wicked breakdown that teases enormous basses and builds the energy perfectly. The chorus has insane power while retaining the sonic depth that both producers are known for. Huge basses sit at the front of the mix and ambient vocal elements, tasteful effects, and massive drums perfectly fill out the space to create a powerful yet lush sonic experience.
The middle of the song dodges the common trend of brevity, instead serving to create a real journey for the listener. This is patiently arranged, with the variation and perfectly paced build of energy required to keep audiences engaged while streaming or in a live setting. I cannot overstate how important Jessy’s vocals are for the success of this extended midsection. She demands the listener’s attention and the vocal works perfectly with the instrumental.
The second chorus is simply massive. I hear a lot of Trivecta here in the enormous saw leads, which creates a transcendental atmosphere that will surely have a broad appeal. The basses retain their power, but the extra melodic emphasis is nothing short of breathtaking. We’re played out by a string section that serves as a moment for listeners to decompress after having their minds blown, and of course, as a great transition point for DJs to utilize this banger in their sets.
It’s great to see Ravenscoon and Trivecta working together on “Let Go” after the former’s massive remix of the latter’s “Castle Walls” that was released last year. Jessy Covets’ vocals add the secret sauce that elevates this masterpiece to another level. I, for one, can’t wait to hear it on the PERIPHERY tour and at any one of Trivecta’s upcoming shows.
