Heard It Here First

Shaquille O’Neal, known to the music world as DJ DIESEL, is on a rampage in 2023. Between massive festival performances at Bonnaroo and Electric Forest, multiple headbanger-friendly tracks released already, and the news of his debut dubstep album coming very soon (never forget Shaq’s rap career and his 1994 album ‘Shaq Diesel’ that featured Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest). His upcoming dubstep album, ‘Gorilla Warfare,’ is dropping later this month and we are AMPED!

Today, he’s linking up with one of the hottest acts in the dubstep world, Jessica Audiffred! The Mexican bass superstar is a worldwide phenom, with her sets as heavy as her originals and massive collaborations under her belt with Excision, Adventure Club, and frequent b2b performance partner Riot Ten. Her artillery of bangers is ferocious and now she’s adding to that cavalcade of hits with a brand new collaboration track with DJ Diesel, “No Fear,” out now through the esteemed Monstercat label.

On “No Fear,” the two producers are bringing out all the stops. It’s a rollercoaster of a tune featuring non-stop action. It’s riddled with gritty, low-end, bone-shattering bass. “No Fear” is a perfect headbanger’s anthem, as Lost Lands and Bass Canyon are right around the corner. We were especially excited to hear that entrancing bass-house second drop. Loved seeing both artists flex that extra production muscle there. Here’s what  DIESEL and Audiffred had to say about the new collaboration:

“This was a super special collab for me because I’ve always admired Shaq, he’s a legend, so when he mentioned me on Twitter saying he wanted to do a collab with me I was shocked, I had a track that I’d been working on for a while that I thought of as a festival weapon but it wasn’t quite ready for release, so I sent it to him and he loved it, he added his touch and his vocal which really brought it to life. I grabbed a sample from a kids’ choir and all together resulted in “no fear”, releasing this track on Monstercat is perfect because you can definitely hear our styles meshed together, I met Shaq in person for the very first time at Forbidden Kingdom in Orlando and he invited me on stage with him, we immediately clicked, he’s an amazing person and you can tell we’re both excited about this song! ” – Jessica Audiffred 

“Jessica is a special artist. We first linked up when I tweeted at her asking if she wanted to do a collab. She sent me a track she was working on and I loved it. I threw some vocals on it and had some other ideas and ‘NO FEAR’ was born. We’re pumped to be releasing the record on Monstercat because we’re both part of the labels family. I think we both knew we had a banger when we dropped it together at Forbidden Kingdom. It was bananas! – DIESEL
