Digital Ethos takes to HypnoVizion for “Kill Em”, a foreboding halftime heater that engulfs listeners in a world of deep, dark bass. This dubious effort is Digital Ethos’ first contribution to REZZ’s heavyweight label, ahead of his second REZZ Rocks V performance with the midtempo bass queen herself this August.
The master of his own design, Charles Quigley IV has curated the Digital Ethos project into a limitless sonic exploratory that resides on a foundation of experimental bass. Coupling with household-name dubstep labels like WAKAAN and Bassrush as well as top-tier festivals like Electric Forest and Shambhala, Digital Ethos has brazenly showcased his unique, sinister soundscapes for the masses time and time again.
“Kill Em” opens up with waning bass that sharply breaks into a bouncing bass line, embellished with gritty growls and booming 808s. Consistent snares keep the tempo stable as Digital Ethos exhibits his freeform finesse and haunting halftime tones that deliver severe sub-shaking frequencies. The unconventional sound design interwoven into “Kill Em” provides the track with the perfect recipe for a nasty case of bass face, solidifying the project as an optimal addition to HypnoVizion’s ghastly ensemble of ominous and outlandish efforts. After releases from sfam, DMVU, and now Digital Ethos, REZZ has been steadily recruiting some of the hottest names in the underground bass world to champion her HypnoVizion label.
Here is what Digital Ethos had to say about “Kill Em”:
“I wrote this track in the midst of a halftime obsession late last year. The focus of this one was drums with a ton of swag. The rest really wrote itself. I feel like all the elements of the song compliment each other very well. The extra time I spent going back to this project allowed me to write something I am extremely proud of! A big thanks to HypnoVizion for the support and the release of my newest single ‘Kill Em’.” – Digital Ethos
