Label heads of the acclaimed Serotonin Signals, Mythic Rogue and Ghost Rook are back again with another diabolical banger of a collab, “Khonshu.” Mythic Rogue and Ghost Rook, last collaborated on their ghastly deep-dub single, “Withering Relics.” Each artist demonstrates an impressive dose of flair as their styles transpose throughout “Khonshu.”
Mythic Rogue founded Serotonin Signals in 2021, focusing on downtempo and experimental bass music from talented rising stars. With a strong emphasis on these artists, he wanted to create a space for these artists to shine and be discovered in an industry where recognition can be difficult. Over the past year, SS has released two compilations, two EPs, organized a tour of SS artists, and thrown their first festival showcase. Keep an eye out for plenty of fire upcoming releases as the SS team plans to hit 2024 with a fresh compilation in January and several events come next festival season.

Ghost Rook is an outright novelist when it comes to his music production and the journeys he concocts. Every track is a chronicle of the unfinished plot of this young producer. The Ghost Rook project originated from Bality’s fascination with corvids, a bird of the crow family, and their mythology perceived in various cultures. This allure feeds his vision for Ghost Rook, to create an obscure legend that will live on through his supernatural spine-tingling deep dub discography.
As we dive into “Khonshu,” we are introduced to a heart-thumping bassline with deep resonating synths. The two Serotonin Signals label heads raised the bar with “Khonshu,” delivering a monumental collab that takes their slightly more melodic recent release to new heights with a significantly heavier emphasis on grungey harrowing tempos. Reverberating bass and an echoing rhythm make for a cryptic heater of a collab.
