What do you get when two of the most iconic, unique creators in dubstep team up? The answer to that riddle is the dangerous, slippery, DEADLY “Black Ice.” Subtronics and REZZ have teased this new collaborative festival favorite for months now, with its official release finally seeing the light of day this morning.

These two artists are undoubtedly the heavyweights of the dubstep arena. Subtronics has literally become just as popular as the Lost Lands and Subsidia don Excision (check out their monthly Spotify plays if you don’t believe us), gaining the attention of the likes of John Summit, Kaskade, and Deadmau5. His fanbase, the Cyclops Army, is arguably the most dedicated in the scene and he’s only continuing his rise within EDM superstardom.

REZZ has been on the top for a minute. Her hypnotic soundscapes and innovative live performances capture more and more bewildering souls with each festival she graces, entrancing the masses with her mid-tempo bass music. She’s done multiple b2bs with Deadmau5, as REZZMAU5, and continues to push boundaries with her unconventional frequencies. Recently, she launched her Hypnovizion label, which has so far platformed HIHF favorites like DMVU, sfam, and Wreckno.

Creating a weirder, less abrasive soundscape on their second collab, “Black Ice” is sure to appeal to many more fans than just your typical headbangers.

“Black Ice” follows up their first collaboration Puzzle Box.” The track quickly became a staple of their live shows and a fan favorite to both of their gigantic fanbases.

With an entrancing buildup and drops that shy more toward the experimental sides of dubstep, this new collision course from Subtronics and REZZ is going to be everywhere. Here’s what space mom had to say about “Black Ice:”

“This is my second track with Subtronics. It’s always such a quick and easy process working with him. Our sounds oddly mesh together so flawlessly. Love the vibe on this one!” – Rezz
