After the wildly successful release of her EP “Nouvelle Era”, CloZee is back with a collection of specially curated music for her Odyzey label. It is the first installment of what we can assume to be many, and fans could not be more excited. After the success of Odyzey’s first event “The Voyage”, earlier this year, CloZee’s upward trajectory has been exponential, and we can expect to see more to come from this group of artists.

The whole compilation provides ethereal vibes, reminiscent of natural soundscapes. They are all unique in their own way, yet tied together through a common musical theme. Tripp St. kicks things off with his track “Premium,” which provides chill, moody vibes.  Edamame’s track “Baiyu” features a melody fueled by marimba and string sounds, with plenty going on in the background to add interest and intrigue.

il:lo comes in on “Plaine,” with a walking bassline that integrates with the light and flowing melody. For some groovy vibes with a strong vocal feature, 9 Theory‘s “Zodiac” has you covered. The piano-powered melody blends with arid vocals, and when that deep resonant bass kicks in the song really opens up and feels incredibly expansive.

It wouldn’t be an Odyzey compilation if there wasn’t at least one CloZee song, and for this one she teamed up with her brother Jead to create a spiritual anthem of love and longing. Dubbed “Please Come Home“, it has the classic CloZee sounds with a beautiful flute melody that powers the work right along. It is equal parts emotive and inspiring, a homerun collab for these two. It was a particularly sentimental effort, as she characterizes:

“After not being able to see eachother for almost 2 years, we finally decided to collaborate for the first time, and express in music how much we miss eachother” – CloZee

I Want 2 Fly Away” from tiedye ky is a melodic synth glitch work of art, with sounds reminiscent of Flume with his own special twist. ESCPE‘s “Akasha” continues on this trend with a distinct cultural influence combined with hip-hop beats. It features an array of stylistic influences that contribute to the intrigue that this song generates.

NotLö, who has been crushing it recently on tour with VEIL, brings deep, dark vibes with her track “Within“. This track comes after her wildly succesful, Wakaan assisted EP Hallucination Effect, which has received high praise amongst the bass community.

Molokai and Chmura are two names that you should get familiar with, as they are on the rise with no end in sight. They have teamed up on this track “TimeLapse,” which is a downtempo glitchy piece that includes a multitude of stylistic influences that blend together without overwhelming the listener. Their track is followed up by VibeSquaD‘s “(About to) Be On” which brings brighter energy back into the collection with a touch of jazzy sway from the production mastermind.

Following VibeSquad’s atmospheric banger, Dreamer’s Delight comes through clean on “Synergy.” We just recently hosted Dreamer’s Delight for a HIHF guest mix, which you can listen to here.

Last but most certainly not least we have bass queen VEIL tearing it up with her track “Dawn Moon“. This track is decidedly more downtempo and chill from the booming up and comer. It is refreshing to see this slightly different vibe from her hefty bangers, and it is a perfect note on which to close out this beautifully composed compilation of talented artists.
