In a renaissance of future bass, AVELLO presents his newest Poison EP, where he demonstrates his refined ability to reimagine his signature melodic dubstep into hybrid multi-genre production stylings. Through the work of four unique tracks, AVELLO curates a fresh sound in the Poison EP that holds an equal share in both the anecdotal nature and the euphoria-inducing composition of this explorative project.

The Poison EP opens up with the solo title track, “Poison,” heightening the energy of the project from the jumpstart with a breathable yet energetic drum and bass-reliant melody. In a merger of future bass and D&B, AVELLO is quick to unleash a grandiose wave of synths guided by steady kicks in the downbeat. This atmospheric tune yields emotive tones through the impassioned vocals and cinematic crescendoes that challenge the norms of future bass. In fusing the two contrasting styles, this sub-genre showcase sets the stage for the succeeding tracks.

Following this, “Honest” featuring singer-songwriter Madeline Austin brings the frequencies back to a state of equilibrium, stimulating listeners with infectious vocals while simultaneously releasing a drum-heavy drop detailed by stutters and glitch effects. As the first single of this EP, “Honest” embodies all of the core elements of the Poison EP, through the intentional integration of sultry vocals, synths, drums, and special effects to give the tune that sought-after celestial feel.

“Take Me There” with hypernaut is the second single off of this project and acts as the counterpart to its preceding track, supplying a high-energy, drum & bass-driven melody from the get-go. The pair work to converge two contrasting genres into a single complementary expression of sound. The “lover won’t you take me there?” tagline has already been captivating fans during live sets as this track propels listeners into a state of ecstasy. This anthemic effort acts as an explicit reminder of AVELLO’s production firepower that has propelled him to Kinetic Stage at EDC Orlando 2023 and we hope to see more collaborations from this dynamic duo in 2024!

Here is what hypernaut had to say about “Take Me There“:

Take Me There is a perfect fusion of both of our sounds that pushes the boundaries of what can be accomplished outside of genre norms. We’re super excited to finally share the tune with the world.” – hypernaut

To close the Poison EP, AVELLO teams up with MVRII in a hybrid-trap collaboration, “Let Go.” In a lane of its own, “Let Go” brings experimental elements into the realm of melodic dubstep. A barrage of laser effects and chopped synths take listeners for a spin through the cosmos, exploring the thematic webworks of pain, vulnerability, and acceptance. Traversing through unchartered sonic territory, this closing track exemplifies AVELLO’s ability to produce, collaborate, storytell, and evoke emotion through his music, ensuring that he has a firm grip on the footholds of his project’s ultimate mission.
