Over the last few years, we’ve seen a rise in talented Canadian artists landing on the radars of bass music enthusiasts throughout North America. Names like MYTHM, Distinct Motive, Wraz, Torcha, and more have been leveling up big time and playing more shows/festivals in the United States. Today, we’re excited to feature two rising British Columbia-based artists–BoyNotHome and INNOCENT–who have just dropped an insane dubstep heater titled “Smoked”.
BoyNotHome has certainly been busy in 2024. On top of multiple singles, he also dropped a self-released EP titled lost files. Additionally, BoyNotHome linked with HIHF guest mix alum Ghost Lotuson a collab titled “Wheels Of Steel” and their two-track Ghouls EP, which was released on Sleeveless Records. You may also recall BoyNotHome’s insane ID showcase, which was included in our Top 35 Showcase Mixes roundup for 2024 earlier this year.
INNOCENT is an Indigenous producer who has made quite a splash in the underground bass scene. His music has graced labels such as Deep Dark & Dangerous, Wubaholics, Spicy Bois, and more. Most recently, he linked with Substance on a filthy dubstep collab titled “Troubled Minds”, which landed on Wheel & Deal Records. Last year, his Terrified EP on Wubaholics made waves, especially the opening track “Terror”. He has also collaborated with names like Wraz, smol, Xotix, and other rising talents.
BoyNotHome and INNOCENT’s styles complement each other quite nicely. In fact, the two BC-based artists have several collabs together, including a label release with SUM R&R. “Smoked” is the latest gem from their combined vault of heat. Both artists brought their A-game on this track, utilizing intense distorted basses, well-utilized vocal samples, and creative flows on the drum pattern. Make no mistake; ” Smoked ” must be played on your fattest sound system available.
We’re looking forward to hearing more from these two promising artists. What did you think of “Smoked” by BoyNotHome and INNOCENT? Let us know in the comments below or on our social media!
