North American drum and bass heroes Justin Hawkes, Bensley, and Kumarion combine forces with the release of the ‘Carry The Fire’ EP under the new record label BEACON. The EP has been complemented by a massive tour of the same name across twenty-four cities, including stops in bass music havens like Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, and Las Vegas.
The debut release from the new label BEACON marks a groundbreaking jump in the effort to launch a thriving drum and bass movement in North America. The EP includes four enthralling anthems that capture the essence of this powerful style of dance music with the unique imprints of all three artists ribboned throughout. The lead single “Carry The Fire” pumps the heart of the project with intoxicating vocals and an upbeat tempo. “Supernova” follows suit with growling bass and tasteful kicks, making it an instant crowd favorite. “I’m Losing My Mind” and “Sell My Soul” round out the madness of this DnB masterclass from the minds of Bensley, Kumarion, and Justin Hawkes.
The brand new label BEACON aims to promote fresh talent in the genre and push the boundaries of drum and bass music in North America. Partnered with AEI Music- the founders of UKF, label founder Anthony Tedder looks to create excitement around growing a community for drum and bass artists to reach new heights and audiences. Here’s what he had to say about the debut release from these three rising stars:
“When I think about this project, I keep returning to the word ‘humbling.’ I’ve been in this business for over a decade and have been in love with Drum & Bass for the better part. Being a DNB fan in the United States has been a humbling experience. Artists and patrons have been holding down the culture from the underground to the festival stages. The scene is rich with enthusiasts, but we haven’t fully cracked into the mainstream of American dance music. This has been a common theme since the 90s. The culture is not new here, and that’s important for everyone to understand. As we’ve seen DNB make massive leaps internationally, we can’t help but want that for our stateside community. The USA definitely feels like, “Why not us?” I’m not saying that BEACON is the savior or the answer, but we will do our part in nurturing the scene and fostering its growth. Hand-in-hand with artists and professionals, both home-grown and international, we will reach our goal of making Drum & Bass a mainstay in American dance music culture.” – Anthony Tedder
