On July 4, devoted fans of The Disco Biscuits flocked from all over the country to the captivating Wonderland Forest in Lafayette, New York for Biscoland 2024.

There was no shortage of jams between the two stages, to say the least. After sitting down with Jon “Barber” Gutwillig of The Disco Biscuits in an interview last month, I knew I was in for a treat. The festival boasted four mind-blowing sets of The Disco Biscuits including a very long-awaited Tractorbeam set that had my jaw on the floor from beginning to end. On top of all of that fun and debauchery, there were countless memorable performances all around the event, whether they were jam or electronic.

Despite the sun and high temps, artists gave fans everything they’d expect and so much more for this festival, making for a perfect weekend. Some of the most unforgettable sets I attended were undoubtedly all four Biscuits sets and Tractorbeam, Lettuce, Cofresi, Late Night Radio, Break Science, lespecial, Kitchen Dwellers, and Horizon Wireless.

Not only were the stages a marvel to behold, but Wonderland Forest was one of the most gorgeous venues I’ve attended in all my years of attending festivals. Camping in the tree line, trekking through the woods, and wandering around the beautiful little pond to the main stage was a truly special experience. The backdrop of the forest around the crowd and stage was simply remarkable. The side stage was the perfect location as the sunset would create an exquisite glow over the landscape.

As the Biscuits took to the stage Thursday evening, I began to mentally prepare myself for my first ever Tractorbeam show, an act I’d anxiously awaited to catch for what seemed like an eternity. This entire set was packed with never-before-played songs and teases segued so effortlessly into one another; making this one of the most memorable performances I’ve seen the band play. They opened up their set with a celestial rendition of “Language” by Porter Robinson into a techno version of “Confrontation.” As I’m picking my brains off the ground, they lead into Fisher’s dancehall anthem, “Losing It.”  The show gradually got darker and exponentially more digital as they went into “The Great Abyss” and Darude’s hit classic, “Sandstorm.” Fans were still trying to comprehend that insanity as they beautifully crushed Leavemealone by Fred Again.. and Baby Keem and KX5’s “Escape.” The big surprise of this set was “Escape” into Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Seeing a sea of Biscuit’s fans singing Katy Perry was definitely a highlight of the weekend.

Friday night’s Biscuits show started off with a blast. They came out strong with a rare “Vassillios” and threw down a colossal showing that included an inverted “Crickets,” a new original, “Another Spin,” and a heavily jammed out “Another Plan of Attack” sandwiched with Fisher’s “Losing It” once again making a grand appearance. Friday night’s second set arguably was the filthiest I’ve ever heard them jam out. Just when you thought they couldn’t take things even more electronic, they come out swinging with a set that felt like a battle between robots and aliens. I’m still shook from it.

Night three’s production seemed like they brought it back to their roots a bit while still delivering that Tractorbeam flair. The Disco Biscuits started with one of their OG classics, “Basis for a Day” and transitioned into one of their new hits off Revolution in Motion, “Freeze,” into another all new original, “Better in Doses” and back into “Basis for a Day.”

Set two saw another classic, “House Dog Party Favor” into another new composition, “Trap Door.” “Cyclone” was given the Tractorbeam treatment as well with samples of Outkast’s “So Fresh, So Clean” and once again the crowd was belting out lyrics while being transported back to the early 2000s. The set came to a close with a phenomenal “Digital Buddha” right before the band came together to take a bow.

From the moment of arrival up to departing Wonderland Forest, this was such a magical weekend. The Disco Biscuits and all of the other acts made this weekend one to remember. After five years since the last Camp Bisco, this was a much-needed and long-awaited festival.
