Made to demolish any system with its grueling heavy basslines, Wraz and MYTHM collide to bring us Cloak & Dagger, their new riddim-fueled collab album.

As we look back on the year and all of the phenomenal artists who have immensely grown and inspired us in 2024, Wraz is at the top of our list. The dedicated Canadian producer has consistently leveled up with his genre-defying sound design and production skills, playing iconic festivals like Infrasound, going on tour across the States, and dropping releases with major labels including UKF, Deadbeats, and his home base, Deep Dark & Dangerous.

MYTHM has also turned heads this year, sonically developing in the dubstep community with his inventive beats and dancefloor-rupturing bass. Luring fans to dark realms with his distortive drums and heavy style, the dub slinger delivered his infectious energy to big stages such as Lost Lands, Bassrush, Infrasound, and Shambhala.

Both artists just featured tracks on the new Deep Dark & Dangerous Decade double album which celebrates the tenth anniversary of the groundbreaking label that’s pushing limitless artist expression. Decade showcases hits and top contenders of DDD including Caspa, Paige Julia, Ternion SoundThe Widdler, Basura, and many more legends.

Prepare your ears and gun fingers for the nine-track audible feast that is Cloak & Dagger. The album starts with the head-nodding stunner “Hidden Blade, “ which grooves the body with intense bass bending and ripping riddim textures. The ID has already been played out to massive audiences and was actually the first song the pair cooked up, which inspired the rest of the LP.

“Chain Throw” thrashes listeners into a high-knee frenzy fusing saucy build-ups and menacing vocals. Unsettling rhythms lure us into “Arma” as the song’s unique frequencies tickle the innermost corners of the brain.

“Act like a waste man, that’s not me,” the iconic quote sampled from Skepta’s grime classic, blares over the bone-shaking sound system behemoth titled, “Wasteman.” Each track is a testament to Wraz and MYTHM’s production skills and ability to transcend many styles. We’re extremely impressed with this tasteful riddim-centered project, as always from Wraz or MYTHM whenever they release music.

Cloak & Dagger is a barrier-breaking compilation of heaters engineered by these two talented bass music phenoms. Here’s what they had to say about the exciting partnership:

“The entire release came about when Wraz and I played a show together in Knoxville and we wrote the track ‘Hidden Blade’ in the hotel room before the show. We shaped the LP around that one tune.” – MYTHM

“This LP is a statement showing that there is always a grey area between sub-genres where the creativity happens – also that the Dubstep sound is alive and thriving ! Hidden Blade was the catalyst of the whole collaboration – Mikey and I made it in the hotel room right before a show together and it sparked this idea of making something different than our usual sound – and the reaction has been amazing!”- Wraz
