Barclay Crenshaw has just unveiled a monstrous remix album “Open Channel – New Frequencies”, showcasing ten new remixes from some of bass music’s premier talents including LYNY, sfam, Shanghai Doom, and Super Future. The outrageous bass project that Barclay Crenshaw has created has earned him the spotlight at Red Rocks, Wakaan Fest,  Lightning In A Bottle. and dozens of other premiere venues and festivals across North America. “Open Channel – New Frequencies” features incredibly innovative sound designs that truly illustrate the endless possibilities within experimental bass music.

The remix album’s release follows the original’s initial release and an outstanding sixty-show tour to boot; both of which are a testament to Barclay Crenshaw as one of the leading forces in the bass music arena.

Barclay has truly had nothing short of a monumental career in electronic music. Before the launch of his Barclay Crenshaw project in 2022, the production mogul took a break from his house music moniker Claude Van Stroke. The beloved house artist had amassed an exceptional following and created the prolific Dirtybird Records. Over the past few years, however, Crenshaw traded in the hi-hats for some 808s and has been blowing out the bass ever since.

He actually recently announced his first return to Claude Von Stroke for Elements Festival 2025. So, we are soaking in as much of the Barclay bass goodness as we can get!

The first rework on the album is a jet-fueled “Do My Ting”, remix from LYNY. With the fan-favorite lyricist Flowdan sending rumbling UK grime vocals underneath LYNY’s distinct bass lines, this is the perfect track to wet your beak for the ensuing chaos of the deluxe album. Always wait for that second drop, because LYNY bends this one into a pumping bass-house tune for a hot second.

LYNY’s nuclear remix is followed by a beautiful reinterpretation of Crenshaw’s “Stay Together”. Experimental bass kingpin, Ashez, delivers synesthetic soundscapes accompanied by the polished flow of TeeZandos, coined the “Princess of Drill”.

The remixes are rounded out by a behemoth rework of “The Rebel” by So Sus, a hybrid trap-focused producer who has gained tons of traction across the electronic music world. They absolutely shatter the ceiling of the original track and it’s a must-add to the HIHF playlist.

Barclay Crenshaw continues to champion his sound and stimulate some of the best bass music production in the scene, putting on rising stars along the way. After seeing him at Elements back in August, and just recently at Jannus Live in St. Pete, he is one set I surely will not miss at Ultra Miami this year. Let us know your favorite track from this triumph release and where you plan to catch Barclay in 2025!
