Hailing from the Los Angeles area, Hex Cougar curates beautiful soundscapes that embody the love and light he aims to portray through his craft. Break Room Records has proudly endorsed the newest EP Embody from Hex Cougar, a label under the Insomniac Records umbrella.

Hex’s resume includes highly praised remixes for Alison Wonderland, Illenium, and RL Grime, multiple originals concurring millions of plays across platforms around the world, along with support on tracks from Skrillex, Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, Baauer, The Chainsmokers, Jauz, and Boombox Cartel.

This newest body of work from Hex Cougar includes five tracks titled “Ultra,” “Eyes,” “Oxytocin,” “Still In Love,”, and “Dream Of U” all centered around the themes of love and fueled by experimental and future bass sounds. The EP explores many styles of emotions encompassing Hex’s high energy, cinematic piano arrangements, and his dance-worthy synths, which seamlessly tie together the entire project. Embody is genre-defying in the best of ways; capturing magic, blissfulness, and feel-good waves in many different variances.

“Ultra,”  in collaboration with VARI opens up the EP with futuristic energy that hydrates the body, soul, and mind deeply. Followed by “Eyes.” the collab with FATE, this one trickles into something menacing and magical.“Oxytocin” in the science world, is known as ‘the love hormone,’ which is exactly what the track makes you feel – in tune with your inner love and emotion. Next up, “Still In Love” brings feelings of joyous vibrations inside that keep the body flowing in bliss. Last, but definitely not least, “Dream of U” is a collab with Malixe, delivering enchanting beats and piano infused with vocals to enchant the listener.

“Embody, my sophomore EP, is symbolic of my tumultuous and emotional relationship with music over the past four years—falling out of love with it, and then slowly, patiently falling back in love.
