As the sun’s rays set the summer months ablaze, the air vibrates with the spirit of youth and a sense of boundless potential. Rising Los Angeles artist KLAXX captured that nostalgic feeling and transmuted its limitless energy into a vibrant track, “Can’t Come Down,” featuring Luxtides. This piece marks his second single release following “safe space“, building traction towards his debut album. With “Can’t Come Down,” listeners are invited to surrender to the rush, as waves of euphoric melody carry us higher—until we feel weightless, like we’re flying.
KLAXX’s soundcraft is born from a multitude of sources of inspiration, ranging from his love of indie-alternative rock and electronic pop like The 1975 to listening to legendary producers such as Porter Robinson, and Skrillex. The combination resulted in his emotive yet explosive sounds. “safe space”, the first piece off of KLAXX’s upcoming album, earned its spotlight on Spotify’s Hyperpop, Trap Mojito, and the cover of Soundcloud’s Level Up Playlist, and it’ll be no surprise if “Can’t Come Down” follows suit. This year is gearing up to be a significant step in KLAXX’s career as he prepares to bring his infectious sounds on the road for two stops of San Holo‘s Wholesome Riddim tour. KLAXX’s ability to encapsulate emotion into an inspiring ballad is what makes the rising producer’s future so bright.
“This song is about loving that feeling of happiness and love and not wanting to come down from that high,” KLAXX shares. “You only get one true love in this life and you never want to let that go. I truly think this is one of my most epic and high energy productions.” – KLAXX
From start to finish, “Can’t Come Down” maintains its altitude, riding high off the piece’s glitchy reverb, rhythmic percussion, and effortless lyricism. Luxtides’ effervescent harmonization adds an extra dimension to the track’s high-spirited aura. The entire piece embodies the timeless energy of nostalgic electronic music. With every note and flowing cadence, KLAXX pours forth the very heart and soul of love at its most soaring heights.
KLAXX’s passionate intention pulses with every beat of “Can’t Come Down”. After the first listen, the percolating sensation of weightlessness infected our body and soul, and has us riding his melodious high while we wait for what comes next. KLAXX’s debut album is still some time away, but at least we have this newest installment to keep us riding high until that day comes.
