Heard It Here First

SUAHN is an experimental producer specializing in industrial, heavy-hitting sounds. He’s worked with well-established names in the space before, collabing with Hydraulix, STUCA, REMNANT.exe, Guilt Chip, and Dubloadz and releasing tunes on prestige labels like RL Grime’s Sable Valley, Liquid Stranger‘s Wakaan, INSOMNIAC’s Bassrush Records, and underground bass music titan SATURATE Records.

Back with a brand new album to grace his fanbase with, SUAHN is bringing out all the stops. This “Distort Everything Forever” album is a true grassroots effort, five years in the making for the rising star electronic artist. On top of the actual music, SUAHN crafted the artwork, the videos, and the visuals himself.

The new album does a fantastic job exemplifying SUAHN’s stellar production prowess. These tunes hit me like something out of a 2015 Rustie or What So Not set. They stray further from the constrictive labels of ‘trap’ or ‘bass’, and more towards the experimental, left-field, flexible sounds that we tend to obsess over.

“Losing My Grip” balances the melodic with the hefty, as its build up feel like something out of an otherworldly orchestra before enveloping into madness and mayhem.

“Thin Air” floats like a trip through time, showcasing effortless synthwork and building an industrial, cybernetic world that no one can craft like SUAHN.

“Pressure” absolutely SMACKS, with a long buildup culminating in a wall of heavy-hitting drums that could outpace a college-drumline. “THAW” finishes out the album brilliantly, and was accompanied by an absolutely epic music video. You can watch that visual effort here.
