Heard It Here First

Effin is someone we’ve covered for almost a decade here at Heard It Here First. The bass music production maestro has provided some of our favorite multi-textured, hard-hitting tracks over the years, collaborating with icons of the dubstep world like GRiZ, Wooli, Tape B, Big Gigantic, Mersiv, and LSDream. He’s also performed at landmark electronic festivals like Coachella’s DoLab stage, Lost Lands, Wakaan Fest, Bass Canyon and tons more nationwide.

This bass music phenom shook the world with his 2023 “Cheap Thrills” full-length album and then again with his 2025 “Daydreams” album.

Today, he’s back with a brand new project that’s taking his signature soundscapes to another level. Effin’s HEARTBEATS has officially arrived.

Three singles teased the HEARTBEATS album release across 2026 – “What’s In Your Heart,” “Forever & Always,” and “Plus One.” The project as a whole pushes further into themes of nostalgia and love. Built through years of obsessive sample work, HEARTBEATS marks his most conceptual, complete work to date. Here are a couple of our other favorite tunes on the new album.

“Heartaches” brings that soulful bass energy Effin has become known for, perfectly balancing melodic and heavy dubstep. On“Crazy,” Effin teams up with a rising star thats turning heads across the scene – Jkyl & Hyde. The two provide fans a masterclass in sharp, punchy sound design on this collision course of a tune.

“The Feeling” was another incredible contrast for the album, bringing Effin’s production prowess to the forefront with not only heavy-hitting headbanger friendly, bass drops, but also beautifully composed and soul-stirring emotional anthems. This track has both, with glimmering synths engulf the listener as the soulful samples carry us floating into another world, eventually breaking down into dubious dubstep mayhem.
