Boombox Cartel’s newest song “People I Know” starts off like an 80’s pop ballad and doesn’t pick up much from there. After massive hits like “Aftershock”, “Supernatural”, and “B2U”, “People I Know” just doesn’t carry the desired Boombox Cartel vibe I was hoping for.

The song’s style falls short of expectations of Boombox music with no bass or drops and instead aligns itself more with Panama’s usual style. Panama brings his beautiful voice to the melody of the track and honestly carries the whole song. He’s also previously done vocal work for Petit Biscuit.

While I’m unsatisfied with the diluted sounds of today’s release, the song is still pretty smooth & catchy. Take a listen below and see what you think!
