Hydraulix is one of our absolute favorite producers (and humans) over here at HIHF. He has had some of the biggest releases of the past year. His EP off the Wakaan label was a standout project of the year and his Drum’N’Bass follow up tune off Wakaan “Spanner” is a true banger that’s gotten plays from Rusko, The Aston Shuffle, and tons of names all over the genre spectrum. He also recently collabed with Wakaan label boss Liquid Stranger on his Ascension EP last month.
The Sydney-based producer also just landed a sync deal with Netflix’s new show Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, expanding his influence on pop culture beyond the festival mainstage.
Today, he teams with a dance music renaissance man. For Hyrdaulix’s newest Wakaan-backed hit, he links with Ookay, the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/producer/DJ who has gifted us smash hits over the years like “Thief”, “Cool”, “Bouncer” with Showtek, and “Chasing Colors” with Marshmello and Noah Cyrus. Ookay is a true talent and if you ever have a chance to check out his all-encompassing live sets, don’t miss him if he’s playing a festival you’re at!
The two Hybrid trap producers make the perfect team. Both of their sounds are extremely versatile and it’s evident they worked well together on this brand new slapper of a collab from the two producers and the good people at Wakaan.
Check out what Ookay had to say about working with Hydraulix below!
“Such a fun tune to write with Hydraulix. I was always into the theme around phones and having bad service or connection. It’s a feeling we all relate to. Human or technological. Creating the suspenseful feeling of when you’ll connect with what or who is on the end of the line.” – Ookay
