Today, American musician, DJ, and record producer Illenium (Nicholas Miller) finally dropped ASCEND (Remixes), the massive remix treatment of his third and most recent studio album ASCEND which dropped in August 2019 via Astralwerks. Several artists had previously taken to Twitter to announce their part in the compilation, while fans had already heard remixes from Tiësto, Blanke, DROELOE, KLOUD, and Alan Walker, along with remix packages for his early singles “Crashing“and Pray”.

The lead single from ASCEND, and arguably one of 2019’s biggest electronic hits, is Illenium’s powerhouse collaboration with Jon Bellion called “Good Things Fall Apart”. Luckily for us, bass duo SLANDER took a stab at it, and the remix is definitely my favorite out of the entire 24-track album. An extensive melodic buildup brings us into a surprisingly future bass-esque drop, and we are later served Bellion’s echoing vocals as dessert. 3LAU, Tiësto, William Blackand Travis Barker also took the challenge of remixing the track. Blunts & Blondes, on the other hand, provided an extra dose of bass to “That’s Why (feat. GOLDN)”.
