SubDocta has been one of our favorite producers over the past few years. He has appeared on labels like Bassrush, Dirt Monkey‘s 19k, and Ganja White Night‘s Subcarbon Records with insane, banger packed EPs in the past. Today, he is linking with Liquid Stranger‘s esteemed Wakaan label for his brand new Psych Ward EP! He also recently appeared on Boogie T‘s Joint Force EP for our personal favorite cut off the project, a DnB tune titled “Hot Garbage”.

We caught SubDocta at his late night set at the inaugural Wakaan Festival in 2019 and it was a sight to be seen, he had the crowd going brazy brazy at four in the morning. Now, he’s bringing fans his Wakaan debut and it is jam-packed with new heat from the Nevada producer/DJ. The new project contains collaborations with G-Space, Franc Friday, Computa and Father Funk and is another wobble fueled masterpiece to add to his stellar artillery of EPs.

Starting out funky and wonky on “Motorboat”, this opening tune is sure to have you grooving to get the EP going. Followed up by the title track, “Psych Ward”, it’s a burley Dubstep effort that you’ll need your neck brace for. Be careful not to lose your mind to this one!

Up next is the filthy and collaborative soundscape“Head Knock”. The gross new tune shows off production styles from both SubDocta and G-Space and is the perfect example of both artist’s impressive and ever-growing creativity. “Particular Sound” follows up with an infectious, driving bass effort that is sure to have you running through the walls and unable to stop moving.

Closing out the EP is the Computa collab “Cut The Mids”. On this final track, the two artists are bring out all the stops. This one is destined for festival mainstage play, with big horns leading into a scratchy, low-end, dubious drop. Don’t be surprised if you hear this dropped at Lost Lands or Bass Canyon, whenever festivals return.
