If you agree with Carnage’s outrageous take that no one is taking risks to push dance music forward, then boy do we have a treat for you. Guppi, the Chicago-based producer, has been making crazy beats for years now, but in the past year he has really honed in on a specific, unique sound.
Bringing together flavors of dubstep and experimental bass music with little aquarium pebbles sprinkled on top, his music is out of this world, to say the least.
Today, after years of fire singles, he finally dropped his debut EP through Subtronics’ new label, Cyclops Recordings. The Ocean Floor EP features four heavy, groundbreaking tracks that will send your cortex straight down to a pineapple under the sea. All of the songs blend well together, incorporating a multitude of boisterous sounds but still maintaining a similar and familiar fishy vibe.
We are definitely going to be bumping the Ocean Floor EP all weekend long!
This marks the second EP release for Cyclops Recordings, following Space Wizard‘s exhilarating Marble Room EP, which dropped a few weeks back.
