Heard It Here First

For more than ten years, Au5 has brought us some of the hugest melodic tunes in the game. Today’s release is quite a big one as well. Teaming up with legendary vocalist Haliene, we are given a gorgeous new track “Was It You” today on Tritonal‘s label Enhanced. This is a full-on trance tune that brings out all the emotions possible and it blew us away!

While keeping to form of a typical trance track, you’re immediately kicked off with vocals like you’ve never heard it before. Haliene’s voice comes in a powerful way, as the mood continues to rise. An incredible build proceeds as Au5 continues to shock you. The drop is as trance as you can get, and that is not only a good thing, but it reminds you that Au5 can do it all. The combination of Haliene’s voice and the perfect mix of synths and melodies will keep your ears tuned in. The second drop hits you like a storm, where you will hear familiar dubstep Serum samples that ultimately tear you apart.

This has come to be expected from the mastermind, Au5’s production skills are second to none. Although he is most known for his ability to blend emotions with melodic bass, he has shown us that he can be given any subgenre of EDM, and then proceed to blow us away with his incredible sound design. His work ethic helps him push boundaries in the scene almost daily. He remains one of the best label hoppers as well, crushing his multiple releases on Monstercat, Ophelia, and most recently Heaven Sent.

Au5 spent 2020 going all out with so many beautiful and highly-acclaimed tracks. Most notably, he brought us a jaw-dropping seven-track downtempo LP “Alchemy” on Liquid Stranger’s downtempo label SSKWAN. We had the chance to sit down with him and get his thoughts on that album, which you can check out here!
