A Hundred Drums has had a monstrous couple of years, absolutely dominating the underground bass scene.
Known outside of the music world as Gabrielle Watson, she is a multi-talented Denver-based, Cali-born multi-instrumentalist and creative.
Throughout quarantine, A Hundred Drums still compelled fans with each and every release and even opened for bass queen CloZee at her Colorado Mishkawa Amphitheater show in late 2020, managing to make the most out of a tough year. She also appeared on Zeds Dead‘s House Party livestream, gifting fans an infectious deep bass-fueled set.
Today, A Hundred Drums is coming out swinging with her newest release, a destructive dubstep single titled “Stark”. “Stark” follows her three-track, lo-fi EP, Sonder. AHD is slated to drop her most ambitious release yet this upcoming Summer, an album off a VERY well-loved and respected bass label.
On “Stark”, AHD concocts those magical bass potions she has become so well-known for. Filled with dubious breaks, crunchy basslines, and low-end synths, this is a must-add to any fan’s playlists. Here’s what she had to say about her newest work:
“For me, music has become more than just create and share. Music has become more of my therapy. And I’m excited to show you guys what my therapy has been like over the last year. To start, I’m dropping my first single of the year, Stark !!! April 16th, Stark will be available on Bandcamp then released on all streaming platforms. This is only the beginning. I’ve got things lined up for the next few months. Let’s, fucking, go!” – A Hundred Drums
