Bass trifecta Ternion Sound is back with more massive beats in their newest work titled, “Illusory Contours.” This newest installment features more of their signature colossal sound. These guys are fresh off a huge set at Red Rocks with Ganja White Night during their Wobble Rocks weekend extravaganza. And the fun doesn’t stop there—they’re set to ring in the new year at the Black Box in Denver, where they’ll go B2B with The Widdler for two special nights. Tickets are available here, don’t miss out!

This newest work is comprised of four tracks, all of which have an apparent drum and bass influence. It was released on Manuka Records, a label managed by Hypho and Xakra, “representing vanguards worldwide.”

The first track titled “The Summoning” begins with a reverberating synth and some drum and bass-esque kicks. It maintains the feeling of being on top of the mellow bassline while gliding through space and time. We then delve into the next track dubbed “Watch“, which features vocals from vandull. This track continues with the drum and bass vibes but at a higher tempo. The vocals give it a UK grime sound, reminiscent of recent Ternion Sound sets.

Just Want U Close” has a liquid resonance to it, with a thumping bassline that beautifully complements the underlying melody. The title track “Illusory Contours” delivers the heaviest of bass out of all the tracks, supplemented by a plethora of immersive effects that perfectly melt together. This effort delivers more delicious tunes from one of our favorite trios, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next!
