Leyla Ali, professionally known as LAYZ, has started a wildfire in the bass music scene. This twenty-one-year-old powerhouse is originally from Maryland and has been checking off a plethora of accomplishments in the past year. Today, she has released her first single with Welcome Records, “SPARK”.
Welcome Records empowers artists who are pushing boundaries and opening new doors musically. The label creates new opportunities and provides value to artists through musical releases that expand across all genres while fueling artist repertoires. It was founded a few years back by Hybrid Dubstep artist Kayzo.
LAYZ was originally featured on Welcome Records’ Little Comp Of Horrors Vol. 3 in October 2021 and her music has been rapidly gaining popularity amongst the headbangers ever since. Her rise in notoriety is also thanks to her massive sets at huge events like Lost Lands, EDC Las Vegas, and EDC Orlando around the same time.
On this heavy-hitting release from LAYZ, her clean sound design is complemented by dark dubstep drops. She brings something different to the table than the norm with her heavy, new-age sound here on “SPARK”.
Recently, LAYZ has been featured on the Loud & Reckless tour with Sullivan King and Blanke since November 2021, selling out multiple shows along the way. “SPARK” has been dropped at her sets on tour, and we know everyone can’t wait to hear this track now that it’s officially out. Here is what she had to say about her newest work:
“Influenced by Sullivan King & PhaseOne’s metal intros, I wanted to take my shot at it! Growing up listening to heavy metal, I wanted to try my hand at mixing metal and dubstep together…I’m super happy with how it turned out and I hope you guys feel the SPARK!” –LAYZ
LAYZ really brought the heat on “SPARK” with brilliantly blended sounds of heavy dubstep fused with classic metal staples.
We hope you love this tune as much as we do! Let us know what you think of “SPARK” on our socials or in the comments below! Also, be sure to show some love to LAYZ on her socials.
