Maryland-based Sol Good has been heating up with a number of solid releases over the past few years and his track “The Hero Is You” brings a healthy serving of the exotic flowing bass he’s been dialing into. Sol Good recently released an EP off Wormhole Music Group and his music was also added to Liquid Stranger’s “Wakaan Weekly” playlist on Spotify.
The tune starts with an interesting intro section. Futuristic plucks and horns create a call-to-arms sensation on top of a lumbering beat. The song skips a more traditional a-b-c section by immediately following through with deep and melodic bass wubs. Other than a brief break around 2:30, the bassline is more or less sustained throughout the rest of the song.
The bass having so much time as the focus pays off as he creatively articulates each section to make it stand out from the last while also flowing from moment to moment.
Last year, Sol Good provided support for major artists such as ZEKE BEATS, VCTRE, Vide, and more, and this year he is setting up to be even more successful. Between the support he’s receiving from major artists to the defined sound he has crafted, the music can only get better from here.
