Yoko is an up-and-coming producer who has been scorching hot as of late! The Colorado-based artist has gained attention and eventually signed to The Gradient Perspective, an underground hub that promotes quality bass music. In the past, she has provided opening support sets for some huge names in bass music like Rusko, Buku, and Esseks.
We hosted Yoko as a part of our Cabin Fever Fundraiser in 2021, alongside artists like DMVU, Benji Robot, Evalution, and more artists who raised money for The Innocence Project, an organization that helps free wrongly convicted peoples. We had the chance to interview Yoko before her performance, check that exclusive conversation out here.
Today, she is linking up with LoFreq Records, a West Coast-based record label that has hosted releases for Ravenscoon, AHEE, Yewz, Mythm, and tons of other up-and-coming heavyweight artists that have exploded since. Yoko is appearing on Volume Three of their LoFreq Cypher tape, alongside artists like Allen Mock, Herbalistek, BASSFACE, and loads more.
For Yoko, this new contribution follows up her masterful three-track Where The Ferns Are EP, dropped through Gradient Perspective a few weeks back. It was an elegant downtempo project that soothed both the ears and soul.
“Decryption Key” is a trip into the low end, taking listeners deeper and deeper as the track goes on. Its the perfect addition to LoFreq’s Cypher mixtape and honestly our favorite thus far.
This track is another stellar example of the large future Yoko has ahead of her. Her production prowess is crystal clear and with the amount of heat she has been cranking out, we know there are big things to come.
