Heard It Here First

Nikademis is an artist we have had our eyes on for a minute now. The NY up-and-coming midtempo producer appeared on our guest mix series back in 2020 and has had his music played out by some of the biggest names in the industry, ranging from Illenium to Big Gigantic to The Chainsmokers.

Poni is another exciting act who focuses more on Drum and Bass. She is a Canadian rising artist who thrived during the livestream season in 2020 and 2021, playing virtual shows with Electric Hawk, Monstercat, and Trillvo. She also has provided official remixes for booming artists like REAPER, off Monstercat, and Deadcrow, off RL Grime‘s Sable Valley label.

Today, the two rising stars collide for a brand new midtempo banger off of Kayzo‘s Welcome Records label. “Syzygy” is here! The new weapon perfectly encapsulates both sides of the artists’ production styles, with Nikademis bringing his ominous dark sound to the table and Poni bringing her prowess at crafting her signature diabolical basslines.

Welcome Records prides itself on empowering artists who are pushing boundaries and opening new doors with their sound and that’s exactly what they are doing by giving a platform to artists like Nikademis and Poni.

“Poni and I connected over a demo feedback stream we had both tuned into sometime during the pandemic. Given that both of our styles tend to revolve around dark sounds, but also have some melodic elements, I think ‘Syzygy’ showcases very nicely what Poni and I each have to offer as artists. I’m ecstatic that Welcome Records has agreed to take this one on, and can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve cooked up!” – Nikademis
