Jamie Martocchio, better known as JAMiAM, is an up-and-coming bass music producer hailing from New Hartford, CT. Today, she is starting Spooky Season a little early with the release of her brand new, dark, and heavy single, “DO iT”.
What started as a strong interest has now turned into a true passion. JAMiAM had been feeling super inspired after attending several shows and festivals, and eventually came to the conclusion: “Hey, if they can do it, why not me?” And that is exactly what she has been doing over the last year, learning new skills along the way while perfecting her craft. This has resulted in a steady cadence of releases, most recently a filthy collab with Arcadian Sound titled “COLLATERAL”.
She made her debut in Brooklyn earlier this Summer as part of Esseks‘ The Uncertain Future Release Party, which featured an unbelievably stacked lineup including Tiedye Ky and Shanghai Doom. She followed this up with yet another stellar booking in late September, supporting head-nodding aficionados Thought Process and Danny Grooves in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Be on the lookout for more JAMiAM bookings as she continues to build this repertoire of hard-hitting bass music!
“DO iT” is a sinister banger, filled with dark bass lines, hard-hitting drums (shoutout to JAMiAM for knowing that there’s nothing like a good snare), and this really cool sleigh bell atmosphere that is heard throughout the song. The way she switches up the flow of the basses will have you moving and grooving. She’s also been incorporating her own voice into her songs, which is something I wish more artists would do. She’s essentially having a conversation with her own song when she states: “Play it twice”. And let me tell you – you’re going to want to play this one more than twice.
We look forward to following JAMiAM’s journey in sound in the future! What did you think of her new single “DO iT”? Let us know in the comments below or on our social media!
