Heard It Here First

CØNTRA is back and better than ever, showcasing a host of new tunes on his “Chopski” EP. 2023 is set to be a massive year for him, with a list of shows that grows longer by the day. He played the Black Box last month with Josh Teed and Morillo, and sets off on a string of shows in NorCal next week with fellow TGP artist Yoko. Festivals are also in the cards for 2023, with The Untz and June Jam on the books so far. He also added the feather of a RinseFM mix to his cap, you can listen here. It includes many unreleased tracks, some of which can be heard on this Chopski EP!

HIHF is premiering the title track of this EP, “Chopski”. This track slowly builds from the get-go, with no sign of reprise ahead. It is riddled with its namesake chops and a solid foundation of massive bass to deliver a certified dancefloor heater. As the first work of this collection, it certainly sets the bar high, but every ensuing song seems to step things up a notch further. Here’s what CØNTRA had to say about the new EP:

“The Chopski EP is some of my more exotic & eccentric tunes that are very vocal sample based. Always have fun chopping and editing up the human instrument that is our vocal chords. Each track is quite different in their energy and style but they are all 140bpm! Hope you enjoy the treat :)” – CØNTRA
