Tape B has become widely known for his updated spin on classic dubstep sounds, especially his remixes of timeless EDM tunes like “Eyes On Fire” and “Collapse” by Zeds Dead. He’s worked with well-established platforms in dubstep like UKF, Wakaan, and Subsidia, and has had support from powerhouse artists like Zeds Dead, Excision, Of The Trees, Peekaboo, and many, many more. Tape B now returns to Deadbeats for his new four-track EP, “Over Saturated.”
The first track of the EP, “Let Me Go,” starts with a minimal intro that instantly hooks listeners. He eases listeners into the tune with dark piano and violin melodies and then brings in nostalgic dubstep basses that remind fans of the days of listening to UKF classics. The track blends heavy-hitting sounds with more subtle melodic sections really well.
“Over Saturated,” the EP title track, carries over some of the emotion from the first track and quickly builds that energy into a heavyweight bass line. The whole tune is extremely catchy and Tape B continues to show his expert ability in bringing in his own style and combining it with his influences’.
“Another Night Alone” starts off with a somber piano and then builds the tension with huge neuro-bass fills. He switches things up here and then brings the listener back home to that signature Tape B sound we are slowly but surely becoming obsessed with.
“Voices” brings in a brand new feel that Tape B’s audience hasn’t heard much from him… yet. It’s a catchy, four-on-the-floor house tune that still incorporates his style of using soulful vocals in his music. It’s also the first official release from his Tech B alias. This last track brought in a refreshing sound, and we can’t wait to hear what direction Tape B takes Tech B next!
