HIHF veteran Austeria is back with her most renowned release to date; her debut EP Metamorphosis. She featured three heavy-hitting earth-shattering tracks and delivered all the heat and then some!

Making a name for herself in 2018, the Maryland-based producer aims to showcase a style of music that is uniquely herself, which she makes prominent with her stunning sound design and live performances. If you haven’t yet, go listen to her HIHF podcast interview here!

Austeria’s music is characterized by a heavy emphasis on the bass and experimental elements that push the boundaries of the genre. The Metamorphosis EP is a beast of a release, demonstrating her expansive knowledge in music production with three original tracks that all go off.

Austeria poured her heart and soul into this entire body of work, and the entire team at HIHF couldn’t be more proud of the outcome. This EP takes a tumultuous turn from her recent release, “The Dark Side,” a Star Wars-themed track that is equally exuberant and diabolical. This new EP exhibits a parallel side of Austeria, still putting her euphoric stamp on each track while revealing a more personal side of her growth as a person and artist. Here is what she had to say about the creation of the Metamorphosis EP:

“I wrote the Metamorphosis EP during a very transformative period of my life, so I wanted it to encapsulate the elements of transformation, rebirth, and the acceptance of your shadow self. The goal is to make you feel powerful and in charge of your own identity and being.“  – Austeria

Metamorphosis kicks off with the title track, leading you in with a tranquil soundscape before the tempo increases and you’re subjected to the bellowing bass line. This track elegantly sets the mood right out the gate, boasting a melodic modulation that transforms into a mainstage behemoth. As the bass envelops your body, you come out feeling reborn. Austeria made sure that nothing is stopping her as she transitions into a new era.

As“Queen of the Underworld” begins, you know right off the bat that this track is going to take a far more sinister turn. The build-up is beyond monstrous and will unleash chaos on dance floors across the country. Its explosive bass and distorted synths result in a menacing heater that will make you want to grab the nearest rail and headbang til you break your neck. 

“Embrace the Shadows” wastes no time throwing you right into the deep end. It starts ominous and ethereal but quickly makes way for deep gritty bass. This track is a wild rollercoaster ride. Austeria brings you back to reality, slowing down the tempo just briefly before easing you back into the madness as the energy builds back up into a volcanic climax. 

It is no mystery as to why Austeria has been rapidly gaining notoriety in the electronic music scene. Her career has been on the rise and so has her fanbase. With a supporting slot for Boogie T On The Rocks at the iconic Red Rocks ampitheater and dozens of opening slots for Subtronics under her belt, it’s safe to say that the sky is the limit for this rising star!
