If you haven’t heard of the rising California producer M?STIC prepare to step into his sonic labyrinth as he unveils his latest EP, GHETTO GOSPEL. In this boundary-pushing three-track project, pulsating electronic beats converge with the street-influenced cadence of trap music birthing another infectious soundscape that has earned M?STIC his rapidly growing fan base. The only thing as captivating as M?STIC’s sub-knocking discography is his iconic producer tag listeners have come to love, “This a M?STIC sound”. One thing is for sure, when you hear those vocals you better strap in for a hard-hitting percussive odyssey.

If there is one word we could use to sum up M?STIC’s presence since entering the electronic production world, it would be “hungry”. M?STIC first made his debut in 2018 with his first single, “Execution”, showcasing his unique experimental bass sound design. Since then he has unleashed an armada of bloodthirsty releases, perfecting the art of curating his energetic hip-hop-influenced soundscapes while co-existing in various realms of EDM.

Besides his mastery of the art of trap production, M?STIC is also the founder of his own curated collective STUNNA POSSE.  Each track of his discography is recognizable not only by his captivating tagline but his bone-rattling basslines which have earned attention from notorious labels such as Subsidia, Bassrush, and Space Yacht. With artists like Smoakland and Alison Wonderland rinsing M?STIC’s bangers at major festivals, it is clear M?STIC is an up-and-coming artist to keep a close eye on.

GHETTO GOSPEL’s first track, “999”, immediately sets the tone for the self-proclaimed “trap bible”. The beginning of “999” draws listeners in with its mystical harmony followed by a pounding echoed 808 beat and crisp lyrics fueling the track’s trap lifeblood. As the crescendo hits the climax we’re greeted by an unrelenting bassline that’s only brief relief is the words “This a M?STIC song”.

“LEANIN” doesn’t waste a second, unleashing a percussive storm of hefty bass sounds. M?STIC’s destructive wobbling bass is perfectly complimented by deep-pitched adlibs reminiscent of infamous A$AP Rocky or 21 Savage tracks. “LEANIN” is the perfect crossroads for trap enthusiasts and headbangers alike as neck-breaking reverb and smooth cadence carry listeners to the choppy second drop. The rest of the track is an utter barrage of M?STIC’s arsenal of wicked bass only to be interrupted by a spot-on adlib, “This is cold”.

The final track of the GHETTO GOSPEL EP, “KILOS,” borrows the muddy sound play of fellow rising bass music producer, SWAMPZ. The pair’s production prowesses feed off each other throughout the whole track, fusing their different stylings to bring about a face-scrunching sonic journey. Each audio element introduced adds a new layer of rich resonant sounds together solidifying this track as a new trap anthem.

Here’s what M?STIC had to say about his new GHETTO GOSPEL EP:

“Going into 2024, I’m not here to play any games and this EP is the blueprint of my street-influenced style. We’ve been working hard to get to this point and to be able to showcase the sound of M?STIC at this present moment in time, through every lesson and all that it took to get here is a major blessing. This project represents the death of the old me and welcoming who I’ve become; Thank you to those who stuck around and those who are barely finding me”. -M?STIC
