The talented up-and-comer, GONE ASTRAY, has teamed up with melodic producer, JOSS, and vocal phenom, skye silanksy, to create an emotional and danceable dubstep number titled “Keeping Secrets,” out now on ARWV Records.
GONE ASTRAY is opening new barriers in sound with his melodic bass frequencies and euphoric beats. His spellbinding production and sentimental lyrics add a spiritual element to his music that magically captivates listeners. This new tune is definitely a testament to GONE ASTRAY’s impeccable skills and powerful capacity.
Collaborating on the track is bass producer JOSS, blending in his emotive synths and uplifting dubstep sound. Based in Montreal, JOSS is making waves in the melodic bass scene with his abundance of celestial design and layers of instrumentation. With unique remixes of songs by electronic icons like SLANDER and William Black, this creator is just getting started with crafting his abilities and we can’t wait to watch him grow.
Bringing her ethereal vocals onto “Keeping Secrets,” singer and songwriter, skye silansky, is a rising force in the EDM community. With a background in country music, her storytelling and passion show throughout her songs and in her incredible vocal performances. She has worked with a diverse range of renowned artists such as HIHF favorites Josh Teed, VLCN, AVELLO, STAR SEED, and many more. Her beautiful melodies and recognizable pitch are a perfect fit for the fresh dubstep single.
The track starts slow as skye silansky enchants listeners with her tender vocal harmonies and alluring tone. “So it’s funny how this one started because Joss and I have sent back and forth songs to work on together as a collab for about two years now, but they never seemed to work or get finished. When he sent me the original idea for “Keeping Secrets”, I was in the car with a friend of mine, so I told him to let me connect my Bluetooth to the stereo to give it a listen. After less than a minute of hearing the song, I knew right away that it was one that we had to finish and get a vocal for as soon as possible. After receiving the stems a few hours later, I locked myself in the studio for like 8 hours straight and worked on adding different layers and beefing up the overall production. After the instrumental was in a good place, we were in desperate need of an amazing vocal, so I was asking different industry friends who they thought would bring this track to life, and one of my producer friends recommended Skye Silansky. It was funny because Skye is actually one of my favorite vocalists in the game, and I was first introduced to her sound when I heard the song “Breathing Again” she has with Nurko which is still an all-time favorite of mine, so when I found out I had the chance to work with her on a song, I was super excited. After Skye sent Joss and I the vocal demo, we knew right away it was the one, as we loved the tone in her voice and the moody lyrics. Once we got the final vocal recording sent to us and did some final touches, it was pretty clear that we had an amazing song on our hands. Joss, Skye, and I are so excited to share “Keeping Secrets” with the world on March 15th, and we hope fans can resonate with this one. “This was one of the quickest songs I think i’ve ever written, and I love when an instrumental helps write itself. The mix of emotions already present in the music really helped to instantly inspire the lyrics. I had recently come across a book called The Midnight Library, all about the different paths you can take and the ‘what ifs’ of each one, naturally reminiscing on some of the best times, remembering the good and maybe forgetting about the bad. A lot of this definitely inspired the story behind ‘Keeping Secrets’ and I’m personally so excited for this track to come out!” – skye silansky
