Every year, Hulaween makes sure to raise the bar by providing festival-goers a heightened experience from the previous year; this year was no exception.

If you didn’t get the chance to experience the magic of Suwannee Hulaween 2024, we are about to give you every reason to add this stellar Halloweekend event to your festival bucket list and break down the event.

New Stages

Those of us familiar with The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park’s hallowed grounds know that each year of Hulaween, we can expect stunning production, mesmerizing art installations, and incredible stage designs. Between the thick Spanish Moss canopy surrounding The Amphitheater, The Meadow’s widespread atmosphere, The Hallow’s field for frolicking, and the Spirt Lake stage’s haunting aura, each stage offers attendees an array of environments to immerse themselves in. This year, Hulaween delivered an entirely new and unique curated stage in collaboration with the female-led collective, Define Everything Future (DEF). The DEF collective’s OFF LIMITS stage made its home this year planted right in the heart of Spirit Lake. This new stage showcased a brand new 360-degree experience enhanced with hypnotic lights, sizzling pyrotechnics, and echoing surround-sound, making this new installment one of the hottest spots of the weekend. The OFF LIMITS stage welcomed incredible acts such as EAZYBAKEDJustin JayOf The TreesChris LakeWilliam Clarke, and many, many more. After their all-star debut, anyone who had the chance to experience DEF’s new OFF LIMITS stage is going to be hopeful that they stick around for years to come.

Fire Lineup

Each year, Hulaween curates a knockout lineup packed with heavy-hitters from a wide array of genres, giving Hulaween veterans and newcomers a little taste of everything. This year, both main stages, The Hallows and The Meadows, welcomed a slew of incredible talent to their massive field with alternating set times, giving each stage their moment to shine.

The Hallows hosted stellar performances by CloZee, Umphrey’s McGee, Daily Bread, Ajeva, and even graced us with one of Tipper’s last performances before his possibly indefinite hiatus from the live electronic music space.

The sister main stage, The Meadows, brought us two iconic performances from festival founders The String Cheese Incident, as well as Black Pumas, Sublime, and two sets from The Bobby Weir Incident, which featured the iconic member of Grateful Dead blessing the festival grounds with the performance of a lifetime.

The Amphitheater stage delivered heart-pounding sets that touched on tons of genres including hip-hop, house, funk, and bass. Notable acts included Lettuce, Killer Mike, Zingara, The Sponges, Chase & Status, and AK Renny, all of whom transformed the iconic stage into an amazing celebration of music and art.

Spirit Lake offered us everything from funky band performances to mind-melting DJ showcases in the early daylight hours to the extended late-night set times. This year, Spirit Lake hosted the likes of G Jones, LYNY, Walker & Royce, BRUX, Eggy, Truth, and many more insatiable acts that rocked the haunted house stage to its foundation.

Signature Interactive Installments

Beyond their incredible lineup of multi-genre talent, Hulaween is always saturated with dazzling art installations and interactive pieces ensured to make the Suwannee experience come to life. The beautiful thing about The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park is that it encourages you to slow down and take your time at a festival, because if you move too fast, you’ll miss some of the best parts of the venue. Whether you’re peering around the spooky houses and discovering a secret passageway leading into the House of the Lost or taking a moment to take off your shoes and step into the welcoming atmosphere of the calming Tea House, Hulaween is known to keep you engaged one way or another. Some of our favorites from the weekend included stumbling upon the little hut where festival-goers were able to engage in a game of alien “Operation”, the interactive scavenger hunt dispersed throughout the park, and the seemingly decorative phone planted in the trunk of a tree….until suddenly the phone begins to ring allowing the patient few the ability to converse with another festival-goer somewhere across the park.

Hulaween is a festival loaded with secrets awaiting your discovery.

Top Tier Florida Weather

Much to everyone’s pleasure, this year’s 2024 Hulaween weekend was blessed with another year of amazing weather. The daytime hours gifted us beautiful 80-degree weather days, allowing us to cool off in the Suwannee River or bask in the sunlight each day of the weekend, as we swayed to the infectious tunes vibrating off the stages. For those of us familiar with Florida weather, it is not too often we get to enjoy both dazzling sunlit days and the rare chill in the air on the same day. However, Hulaweekend always manages to bring us a bit of both. Each night, the weather dropped into the low 60s, allowing us to wrap ourselves in our favorite pashminas and fur coats, as we explored the late-night hours of the campgrounds. Given the Halloween season, packing your favorite onesie attire is always encouraged!

Favorite Acts Of The Weekend

Hulaween 2024 was packed to the brim with renowned artists who delivered memorable sets. With so many incredible performances, it is near impossible to pick any singular one that takes the cake for the best of the weekend. Here are some of our favorite standouts!

Daily Bread

Day one of the Hulaweekend started off with the pedal-to-the-metal, unleashing the fan-favorite, Daily Bread, on the masses during the early nighttime hours. Each and every Daily Bread set leaves us wanting more, and this one was certainly no exception. Daily Bread delivered a standout performance that captivated the audience with his signature blend of electronic beats and hip-hop fusion. The set featured a dynamic mix of original tracks and remixes across the board, showcasing his versatility and innovative sound. Fans were treated to an immersive audio-visual experience, with vibrant lighting that complemented the music. Daily Bread’s seamless transitions and engaging stage presence created an electrifying atmosphere, leaving festival-goers buzzing long after the last note. No Daily Bread set is complete without the number one essential: bread. This time fans along the divide were blessed by a personal bread delivery by none-other than Daily Bread himself. His performance solidified his reputation as a staple in the electronic bass music scene, making it one of our highlights of Hulaween 2024.

Chase & Status

Chase & Status set the Hulaween Music Festival ablaze with an unforgettable performance that blended their iconic drum and bass energy with the festival’s vibrant spirit. Taking the stage with infectious enthusiasm, C&S unleashed a sonic barrage of deep basslines and exhilarating beats that had the crowd moving from the very first drop. The set was a master class in rhythm, featuring fan favorites such as“Backbone” and, of course, “Liquor & Cigarettes,” alongside new material like a crowd crumbling “Baddadan VIP”. The Amphitheater stage was rocked to its core by the pulsating soundscape accompanied by stunning lasers and eye-catching visuals, creating a multi-sensory experience that drew festival-goers deeper into the musical madness of DnB legends Chase & Status.

Of The Trees

Of The Trees captivated audiences this year with another mesmerizing set that perfectly blended lush soundscapes and intricate beats. As twilight fell over the festival grounds, the artist’s unique fusion of electronic and organic sounds transformed the atmosphere into an immersive sonic journey. Drawing from a rich palette of musical influences, Of The Trees masterfully layered ethereal melodies with deep bass and vibrant percussion, creating a sonic tapestry that resonated with fans. The performance featured several standout tracks including “Muscaria” and “Blue Mile” with Barclay Crenshaw and Strategy, accompanied by stunning visuals that enhanced the ethereal vibe and curated a dreamlike experience. Audience members were swept away by the rhythmic ebbs and flows of the set, with moments of high energy seamlessly transitioning into tranquil interludes. The connection between Of The Trees and the crowd was palpable, as festival-goers danced in unison under the enchanting lasers. This performance left fans eagerly anticipating when the next time they would see Of The Trees would be, with the crowd of festival goers leaving with their jaws on the floor.

Levity

Levity took the stage as the sun slowly set on day one of Suwannee Hulaween. They delivered a spellbinding debut Hulaween performance that left attendees in a state of euphoria. Levity has rapidly become a must-see act as they continue dominating the festival circuit with their indomitable performances, jam-packed with bangers. The Hallows field burst with electricity as the Levity trio took to the stage to showcase their infectious discography full of back-breaking flips, originals, and electronic classics from fellow rising producers. Fusing elements of hip-hop, trap, and heavy dubstep, Levity crafted a soundscape at Hula that enveloped the audience, transporting them on an unforgettable auditory journey. As always, the trio’s energy was top-notch, utilizing their explosive performances to send chills down the spines of everyone throughout The Hallows’ field.

As if their solo set wasn’t magical enough. DEF’s OFF LIMIT stage reserved a special TBA slot that left festival-goers clambering to the 360 stage awaiting the announcement. To everyone’s surprise, Levity ended up rising to the occasion. The Levity trio was joined by a b2b performance with fellow HIHF Guest Mix contributor Eater who was slotted for the early hours of Thursday’s The Hallows stage. By a turn of events, Raaket, another HIHF guest mix alumni, was amongst this year’s festival attendees and was invited onto stage by the Levity and Eater to turn the b2b into a b3b performance, packing out Spirit Lake for a exhilarating performance no one on our team will ever forget!

Tipper

Perhaps the most highly-anticipated act of the Hula-weekend, Tipper took to The Hallows stage on Friday night with a spectacular performance of his signature turntablism charged by experimental glitch-hop fervor. Nearing his slow-approaching retirement, Tipper fans flocked to his set early to secure the best possible view of what may be his final set in Suwannee. Complete with a top-of-the-line sound system and incomprehensible psychedelic visuals, Dave Tipper did not hold back in delivering a mind-melting set interwoven with Tipper classics and experimental unreleased fan-favorites. His unmatched and infectious scratching skills mystified and hypnotized Hulaween attendees and had fans hooting and hollering for an encore by the close. Check out some clips of Tipper’s Hulaween 2024 performance here!

Zingara

A dominant feminine force in the world of experimental bass, Zingara brought her otherworldly freeform fire to The Amphitheater stage on Saturday night. Just ahead of her upcoming For The Crystal Children Tour, Zingara rinsed brand new tracks from her new EP of the same name, including her introspective, funky single with past collaborator Steller and Maurice Brown titled, “The Rhythm of Life”. The Amp stage was jam-packed out with fans old and new, enchanted by her laser-loaded production taking new form on the upgraded stage, compared to a smaller crowd her 2022 Spirit Lake stage set. Zingara was sure to channel the creatures of the forest with “TROLLZ”, her nasty collaboration with Gardella from earlier this year. Experiencing Zingara’s ever-evolving DJing skills take life in a peak Saturday night slot was a staple of our Hulaween 2024. Be sure to check out her For The Crystal Children Tour that just kicked off, joined by HIHF favorites including Gardella, Sippy, Steller, and Super Future!
