There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Jade Cicada is one of the most talented creators in his respective lane of music, inspiring a whole generation of underground glitch-hop and experimental bass music artists.

With many releases ranging in texture, emotions, and technical abilities, Jade Cicada continues to bend musical norms and put out projects that get listeners invested into the world he creates. This is clear when listening through his releases like Brood VII, Fish Juice, Pressure Gamut, and many more impressive projects. Not to mention his recent Loot Drop surprise mixtape, which was absurdly good. Jade Cicada has locked in a truly special, cohesive togetherness when it comes to the sounds he creates and the resulting energy and feelings he induces.

After an incredible year, with a massive headlining show in Denver at Mission Ballroom, playing Zeds Dead’s First Contact in Hampton, and a huge tour kicking off in 2025, what better way to wrap things up than with a brand-new tune? “Frame Shift” starts off with those distinct Jade Cicada elements intertwined amongst some rhythmic beats we truly cannot get enough of. “This tune [Frame Shift] was heavily inspired by beat scene type music of the early 2010s. Sunclef’s 2011 tune “Droski” is definitely the biggest influence in the direction of ‘Frame Shift’. I’ve been wanting to make music in that style but with a heavier bass/dance production to it for a long time and a goal of mine is to make more melodically and harmonically driven boom-bappy bangers like this one.” – JADE CICADA

The harmony found in “Frame Shift” mixed with those more ‘banger’ elements, really makes for something special. It’s a blend of emotions that fit together perfectly, almost in a cathartic way. Jade Cicada continues to prove music is his calling, and with each release, he breaks barriers and makes even smoother sounds, which we know he loves as much as we do!

Each time you listen to “Frame Shift” there are new things to discover and appreciate. Yet another reminder that Jade Cicada will only continue to level up and level up and level up.
