Caspa and Ternion Sound have delivered the ultimate collaboration showcasing the depths of their illustrious soundsystem culture backgrounds paired with renowned low-end basslines through their collab, “Never Serious”.  The track is out now through Bassrush.

UK trailblazer Caspa hails from West London with early influences of jungle and hip hop. He began DJing after his promising basketball career was cut short but synchronistically reignited his passion for music. Caspa has since continuously helped shape dubstep’s evolution, from his genre-defining work with Dub Police to his standout ‘Ghost Town’ EP on Bassrush Records, to his work with Rusko with their legendary collaborations and London performances. He has toured all over the world from the US to Ibiza including playing at huge festivals like Lollapalooza, Glastonbury Festival, Global Gathering, Big Chill, and more.

US-brewed production trio Ternion Sound is celebrated for their experimental and progressive style, embracing modern 140bpm dubstep. “Moving people through sound not hype” is what they strive for with their boundary-bending style and advocacy for sound system culture through and through. The powerhouse group came together at Infrasound in 2016 and took the scene by storm. They’ve risen as global torchbearers of the scene, captivating both the American and international dubstep community. Their releases on labels such as Artikal, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Deadbeats, and Gourmet Beats have earned them support from genre legends like Mala, Truth, Distance, Youngsta, Coki, Bukez Finezt, Joe Nice, and many others. With live performances on massive stages at Forbidden Kingdom, Outlook Festival, Wakaan Festival, and countless tours all across North America, Ternion Sound delivers epic sets and experiences every single time.

We also just teamed up with the two powerhouse acts to giveaway a pair of tickets to Caspa & Rusko’s Denver b2b headline, which also featured Ternion Sound, The Widdler, Torcha and more.

The timing of “Never Serious” is significant. Ternion Sound has announced their planned disbandment for 2025 and soon will embark on their ‘farewell’ tour. This track serves as both a reminder of an incredible era drawing to a close as well as a celebration of the journey the trio has traversed over the years. What a perfect fit to celebrate with none other than the legend Caspa himself.

“Never Serious” begins beckoning you through sinister and esoteric sound that builds up before dropping into menacing wobbles layered with haunting ethereal vocal loops. Meticulously layered and showcasing underground vibes, this track shows how dubstep can be pushed to new levels, and is sure to slap both at home and on festival or venue soundsystems everywhere.

“I’ve been a big fan of the guys for a long time; I absolutely love what they do within dubstep. They had supported me on a bunch of shows and we’d spoken about doing a collab for a while. Last year, it came together very naturally; I created an idea and sent it to them—they added their spin and, bang, it was done. We even kept the original working title: “Never Serious.’” – Caspa
