For the past decade, Denver’s jamtronica trio, SunSquabi, has been igniting crowds at countless venues and festivals with their instrumental dexterity and panache, delivering their prestigious signature sound. Comprised of Kevin Donohue [guitar, keys, production], Josh Fairman [bass, synth], and Scotty Zwang [drums], they’ve been hitting the road hard with tour dates across the country, including upcoming performances at Elements Music Festival and Suwannee Hulaween, where they’ll be showcasing their new album SunSquabi, featuring collabs with Nate Miller, Eddie EWI, and Chris Karns of Pretty Lights.
This self-titled album, SunSquabi, reflects ten years of hard work and dedication to honing their sound, delivering fans a transcendental experience whether live, in your car, or at home on your phone. I recently had the pleasure of witnessing some of their new album live in Connecticut, where they shared the stage with collaborator and champion turntablist, Chris Karns.
SunSquabi continues to push the envelope of what we thought possible, forever evolving their sound while remaining committed to establishing a deep connection between electronic music and jam bands and relaying it back to the crowd. To say the least, there is absolutely no shortage of synth both on and off stage. They did a stellar job melding funk, jam, and electronic music, featuring Eddie EWI on his electronic wind instrument in “Light Piracy.” They also showcased “Feeling’s Gone” and “Hard Truth” with Chris Karns, and “Brass Pineapple“ with Nate Miller crushing on the horns.
Don’t miss out on their current tour to experience all the latest jams from this legendary jamtronica three-piece. They have multiple festival performances coming up, as well as two nights at Cervantes in Denver, with LUZCID, 3420, and more! Follow the link here for all their upcoming dates!
