“This album is a culmination of everything I’ve learned throughout my journey with production and artistry. There was a constant struggle of popular music vs the stuff that felt more true to me over the years. All these tunes were a product of really emotional times in my life— and ended up working so well together I think because of the authenticity of the inspirations for each of them. Glad to finally have this part of me out to the world. Hope everyone enjoys it. “

Back to Our Roots’ precise blend of ambient experimental bass and psychedelic low end together establishes the album’s uplifting atmosphere. The album welcomes us into its sonic snare with the lead track “Polarity”. This intro piece lays the groundwork for the album’s dual nature, presenting both airy melodies and dubious basslines. For Back to Our Roots’ following track, “Cross Your Mind”, Mystyk Forest enlists G-Space and NKTA for the standout piece of the album.  Together, the trio crafts a mesmerizing soundscape layered with lush synth textures, spellbinding vocal elements, and intricate percussion, resulting in one of the album’s most memorable moments. Sliding in the third album slot is “Pan Handle (See You Again)”, a soulful fusion of a cosmic soundscape and glitchy, heavy-handed bass breaks, delivering a multidimensional and euphoric listening experience that showcases Mystyk Forest’s versatility as a producer.
