Distinct Motive and EAZYBAKED are coming together today for a fresh new collision course of a track titled “What’s The Motive.”
The new tune is out today through Zeds Dead‘s legendary electronic imprint Deadbeats, who’s just celebrating their tenth birthday making a profound impact on the dubstep scene. Distinct Motive and EAZYBAKED both are no strangers to Deadbeats, as their first official B2B performance was opening for Zeds Dead and Subtronics at their Deadbeats vs Cyclops Recordings Miami Music Week showcase.
Distinct Motive is taking the dubstep world by storm, you’ll have a hard time seeing a set in 2026 and not hearing one of his songs included. The Toronto-based Selecta boasts past collaborations with Ganja White Night, Caspa, Wraz and other dubstep powerhouses and has released tunes on major labels like Drama Club, Deep, Dark & Dangerous, and, of course, Deadbeats, which was home to his 2024 breakout smash “Mellow Man.”
EAZYBAKED is an act you should be familiar with in the bass scene. The Florida production duo become festival standouts all over the country through their frenetic on-stage energy and distinct dubstep stylings, leading to collaborations with Daily Bread, Wreckno, Caspa, Richard Finger, G-Space, and more.
For “What’s The Motive?,” EAZYBAKED and Distinct Motive are fusing their sounds seamlessly, landing somewhere in between Distinct Motive’s aggressive, choppy bass and EAZYBAKED’s sporadic, more crunchy, webbed, trappy stylings. This is exactly what you would expect from two of dubstep’s most exciting names of 2026, genre-blending and perplexing textures that are sure to enchant any festival crowd.
The two acts are already on tour together, where they’ve been flexing their new collab all over the country. EAZYBAKED and Distinct Motive are set to throw down at Nocturnal Wonderland this coming weekend for a B2B set and they have loads of other headlining performances to come including burgeoning markets like Philly, Seattle, Buffalo, and Clearwater, Florida.
